Memories

OK, I already did this on facebook, but it think it's a good way to see who actually reads this blog. I promise I won't be freaked out that you check up on me. In fact, I promise I'll be flattered. If you already did it on facebook, feel free to slack off.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
.
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Talyn,
My first memory of you was in my kitchen at Heritage Halls my first year of BYU. You were on a mini date with my brother, Bryan and we had hot chocolate and cut out snowflakes together. Fun times. :) I would invite you to my blog but I don't have an email to send it to...

The first memory that comes to mind is sitting with you on the couch in our apartment in the FLSR crying about how I was going to break up with Hugh and I was afraid that he and I would never be able to be friends again. We broke up, then got back together a week later and now we have a 2-month-old... apparently it wasn't the end of the world after all. :)

Talyn,

One of my favorite memories with the Wong family was when we were at your apartment in Provo after dinner playing "How Well Do You Know Your Walmart?" I think you guys had a Walmart map book of Canada/US and it listed each Walmart and what it had in it.

Do you remember that? I think we could market that game.

Talyn,
I wanted to join in on your memory game too. I have to say that my favorite memory was when you sang "Breath of Heaven" ( I think thats the name of the song) at enrichment. Your vaoice is amazing and that's one of my favorite songs.

The first memory that comes to mind is when you were speaking in Sacrament Meeting. You introduced yourself as Talyn Wong and then said, "I know I look like a Chang or a Chao..." I let out a full blown guffaw and it was at that moment I learned how hilarious you are :)

Once upon a time we were fighting over Allison Strege in the basement bathroom. Her arm was dislocated.

The first memories I have with you are of French Class at BYU. I think you were in French 2 and French 3 with me. You were friends with all the smartest people in class and were very good at French. I always thought you were nice, but thought I wasn't smart enough to hang around you. I thought you were totally crazy for taking French just for fun. Needless to say, I'm really glad I got a second chance to get to know you, because now you are my FAVORITE!! Now that I know you better, I know we have tons in common. You're the coolest!:)

I remember being in labor in WA waiting for my parents to arrive from UT when my husbands parent came and made me go to the hospital. I remember my labor was harder the second time. Then I remember you. Your arrival was a blessing.

Sorry Talyn, I mostly have memories of Kevin, since I know him better, but I'd still like to play along. I remember freshman year of college, playing soccer every Friday afternoon and Kevin was always there to play too! It was so fun!

I guess I do have one memory of you, Talyn. It's of you being pregnant and coming to cheer for Kevin (and I guess the rest of us) at the indoor soccer games last year.

Hmmmmm. . . .there are so many that it's hard for me to remember where one ends and another starts. For some random reason, the first one that comes to mind is one when we were living together in the Spanish House. You and Kevin had been dating a while, I think, and it was around Thanksgiving. You were leaning over the balcony on the second floor and talking to Kevin as he left. You said, "Goodbye, pumpkin!" I found it hilarious for two reasons: 1) It was Thanksgiving and 2) Cheesy lovey-dovey names are hilarious in general.

That's when I decided that whoever I ended up marrying would have to deal with cheesy lovey-dovey names (i.e., sugar plum, shnookypootz, honey pie, and the like). Poor Tood :-) But saying them keeps the humor in life and keeps you from taking yourself too seriously.

Bula! Of course I have a Fiji memory of you. Chicken feet and other scary meat... noisy buses... beautiful people. I really remember though how you had everything so planned and figured out. You found a way for Kevin to visit you, you had a job lined up for when you got back, you just seemed to have everything planned and thought out and I thought that was a really great quality.

I remember I first heard of you when someone told me that Kevin was engaged to a pretty red head who was a lot taller than him. Then I remember meeting you at your wedding reception and it was true, you were a pretty red head and you were a lot taller than Kevin. But I had a great time at the reception!

Noelle: t a l y n at t a l y n k e v i n dot c o m

Kristi: the first memory that comes to mind is you practicing that wickedly difficult flute piece in the commons room.

Mer: I need in invitation to your blog, because currently I only check it when Kevin left himself logged in. My memory of you is how Baptiste at the whole darn pie. And hanging out with you in your studio at the U talking about French bread.

Marci: I'm kicked out of your blog too. :) Definitely admiring your family's red hair in church before I had actually met you.

Mike: When you told us you had a girlfriend and then we asked if it was serious and you showed us a picture of the ring. Surprise! Pretty serious I guess.

Amy: Playing volleyball. Haha. How many times did you play alone when Kevin and I didn't show up?

Ms. Reasor: When you threw scissors at me and I got stabbed in the arm.

Shawna: Feeling so very special when you recognized me from French class our first week in the ward.

Lark: You yelling out the bathroom window to us at the bus stop.

Cary: Getting emails from you and laughing out loud several times. For instance the one about the taco salad Minnesota party.

Emily: Looking and looking, unsuccessfully for lice, and then having you find them easily without even looking.

mike and shaina: Looking at pictures of you and Kevin from freshman year, and hearing stories about you as well. I think it's so cool that you freshman year people are still friends with each other.

Riding the bus to school. Proceeding to be jealous when you didn't have to ride the bus anymore. Delivering your mail when the mailman had a little too much to drink and couldn't decipher a 4 from a 5: Yeah 1220 SW G-Rock addresses! And of course, fluties!
