Compliments

Recently I have taken up my flute again after an almost 9 year absence. I played with Kevin at the Atlanta temple open house on Friday. In my day, I was pretty good in the high school crowd. In his day, Kevin was really good in the musicians crowd. Then I quit playing for 9 years and he kept at it, although not nearly as religiously as he had been. Anyway, on Friday, while he was playing solos and I was taking a break I received many compliments to the tune of, "Your husband is really, really good. [Insert specific praise.] You're good too. He's amazing!" I love being married to someone people love to compliment. I love to hear people praise him. And he is much, much better than I am. Talent + loads of practice will do that to a person. On the other hand, my favorite compliment of the event was directed to me and only me. It went something like this, "You have babies?! But you're so skinny, and you look so young!"

Talyn you are Amazing! You only ever practiced flute while in the 6th grade. Then played extremely well until the 12th grade. Then you didn't play at all for almost 9 years. Talyn you are amazing to be playing so well now! And getting compliments.
